Hello, here we are again..
This time i am here to fill you in on what actually happened in Kavos and why i am never going on a girls trip again..
I don't even know how to break in this dramatic and traumatising holiday post.
So, a group of my girlfriends were all planning a trip away to Kavos and i had said no, no, no right up until the last minute which was around new year going into 2017, i just thought 'f*ck it, why not". It was planned for June and right over the week of my birthday. The time came and the closer it got the more i didn't want to go, i was close to cancelling, but i didn't, unfortunately. Everything leading up to this holiday was fantastic, all the payments were on time, shopping had been done, we were on time to the airport, checking in..and thats where the problems began..WE HADNT STEPPED FOOT OFF BRITISH SOIL YET!

We had got electronic check in papers so that we didn't have to stand in the worlds longest queue's and just get on with it, nope, there was a problem..two of these didn't work so the amount of time half of us had cut out, the other half still had to queue and we still had to wait. At the time this was just funny because of the excitement, we were dying to get on that plane!
Finally through check in & security..we found the bar! silly idea as some are more tolerant to alcohol than others..so the next part of the journey was the flight, some knackered, some drunk, and some flat out asleep from take off to landing.
We knew how far away the hotel was from the airport but that bus journey was the longest most boring journey i think i have ever been on, i mean we were on a girls holiday, the first night and I'm pretty sure the majority of us were asleep.
FINALLY we got to the hotel..well half of the hotel as we quickly found out the hotel that was booked was scattered across what seemed the whole island!!!
2 girls were in the hotel itself, then being lead across the STRIP with all our luggage to the next room..and then AGAIN across MORE hotels to get to my room. Again i think everybody was so excited to be here that it really didn't matter to anyone.
The first night was enjoyed by everyone, no fall outs, no split ups just good fun..UNTIL one of the girls forgot to bring her inhaler and it all got too much for her and she had a panic attack, suddenly we were in the hospital with her..

Back to the hotel rooms that night and the front doors and our balcony doors were not secure at all and we were on the ground floor..we decided to push our beds together..as if that would've made us feel any safer.
When waking up the second day i realised how itchy my face was and just thought it was the heat and that i maybe hadn't taken my makeup off properly, showered & all seemed ok. We had to return to the hospital that morning so they could check over my friend to make sure she was ok..she was fine, then the hospital bill came out & quickly realised we didn't have any health insurance or much money, that was around £100 spent quickly. throughout the day it was getting hotter and hotter and my brain felt like it was expanding and my head couldn't hold it..i was bed bound for the rest of the day & couldn't bring myself to go out that night, thank fully i have wonderful friends and one of them stayed with me as she wasn't feeling it either.
The next day i was feeling so much better! my room mate definitely was not..rough was an understatement. Again my face was red hot, felt inflamed and so super itchy, i hadn't even been wearing makeup..so i went to take a look in the mirror..i was absolutely horrified..

i was being eaten alive !!! :( everyone on this trip had been bitten a lot but nobody had any on their face..and i didn't have any on my body apart from my face!
I decided to just find it funny at this point because if i didn't laugh i definitely would've cried for the rest of the trip.
We decided to spend the day at the beach.

The night out was brilliant once again, but i was becoming very homesick though and wasn't really enjoying myself anymore, half way through the night i decided i had enough and i went back to the room. Dead to the world asleep for the rest of the night. I had no recollection of how my friend managed to get back in the room as i don't remember waking to let her in..and thats because i didn't...apparently she had been banging and banging on the door shouting my name, i didn't wake..she eventually gave up and had to break through the balcony doors, oh how i would have loved to have been secretly awake to watch that happen!! haha.
Only then was i informed that there was break in involving our hotel..thats right, 3 of the girls that were away with us had their room broken into whilst we was out, smashed balcony doors & things were robbed. Absolute disaster and such a downer for what was already a memorable (and not in a good way ) holiday.
my face was only getting worse so i HAD to take a trip to the hospital as i couldn't even open my eye it was so swollen & it was my birthday the following evening! they couldn't do anything as i wasn't willing to pay, she did manage to sneak me some bite cream, which actually flared up the bites instead of helping!!

I tried to focus on the night out and actually it did work, makeup seemed to cover up my horrendous bites and it was probably the best night out i had there! (apart from because you were allowed to smoke in the clubs..my hair very nearly almost went up in flames).

not much really happened the following day, we were all pretty knackered and ready to go home but it was my birthday the next day so we head down to the beach again all day & decided that we were going to stay in that night so we were fresh for the 20th birthday celebrations..Oh and we decided to get compulsory shit Kavos girls holiday tattoo's! did you really think we would stay in that evening? No definitely not..it struck 12 & our room was so close to the strip we may as well have been on it, so thats what we did..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!! and Kavos' gift to me was to make me look like this..

And no thats not red/pink eyeshadow..they are bites!
We decided to go down to the beach once the strip has closed..just to take dip and watch the sunrise. We didn't actually intend to watch the sunrise, we just didn't realise how late/early it was. oops.

i thought "finally, the holiday was getting better and we are going to have the best time"
No, no, no, no, because it wasn't long before the next disaster struck. Off i went in the morning to get some hangover food for the girls (and myself obviously) but i had to use the card machine..card in, pin in, request how much money i wanted, card came out..machine started to beep and i couldn't grab my card, so sucks it back in, i pressed 'try again', pin in, request how much money i wanted, card came out..BUT NOT FAR ENOUGH. The card machine had swallowed my card..f*cked & fuming.
how much worse was this holiday going to get?
i wanted to go home and some of my friends were actually on the flights page trying to book a flight home.
My dearest darling boyfriend did offer to get some money to me somehow but i did have some change that i just had to use carefully.
EXCELLENT NEWS - IT WAS THE LAST EVENING!! we had booked a bus into the town where the airport is to have a look about and last minute shopping so we stayed in and decided to be fresh for the journey home. What a stupid idea, i was being bitten more in our hotel room than if i was to go out on the strip!
We were laying on the beds with the sheet covering us from mouth to toes (it was sooooo hot but the only way to not be bitten) and a cold wet flannel over our foreheads.
All you could hear at this point were the bugs flying around your head, my roomie went round the room with her sandals and flattened all the ones she could find. haha.
It took an hour to get into town the next day and our flight wasn't for another 5 hours. Carried our luggage around all the shops and restaurants until we had seen everything...we still had 4 hours to wait for our flight, i was about ready to give up everything and walk home.
FINALLY at the airport and checking in our luggage, only to find out there was an HOUR AND A HALF PLANE DELAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
landed eventually - i bet you're thinking, thank god thats the end because surely nothing could happen now? wrong..through security ready to pick up our bags and one was missing, everyone was waiting outside whilst my poor, poor friend was searching for her case, turns out, another elderly women had taken it off the belt thinking it was hers, no clothes for days after this!!!!!
i had never been so happy to be at home and going back to work in my life.
I have promised myself that i will never ever be going on another trip like that ever again :-).
